DYSLEXIA AWARENESS TRAINING FOR EDUCATORS - SEPT 2023
In our dedicated efforts to foster a more inclusive and supportive learning environment, for the month of October 2023, we have successfully implemented dyslexia awareness training for over 500 educators in schools across Jamaica. Through engaging workshops and comprehensive resources, we have equipped these educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognise and address the unique needs of dyslexic students.
By promoting a deeper understanding of dyslexia, we aim to create classrooms where every learner can thrive, fostering a culture of empathy, patience, and tailored support. Our commitment to empowering educators reflects our belief in the transformative power of education to break down barriers and ensure that every student, regardless of their learning differences, can reach their full potential.
DYSLEXIA AWARENESS TRAINING FOR PARENTS -
SEPT 2023
SET.Foundation has been actively engaged in empowering 2,000 parents across primary and secondary schools in Jamaica through insightful presentations focused on dyslexia awareness and effective strategies for supporting children with learning difficulties. By organizing these presentations, we aim to bridge the gap between educators and parents, fostering a collaborative and informed approach to addressing the unique needs of all students.
These sessions not only raise awareness about dyslexia but also provide practical tips and tools for parents to navigate and support their child's educational journey. By arming parents with knowledge and understanding, we believe we are not only enhancing the support system around the child but also contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate community dedicated to nurturing every student's potential.

Keith explained that research shows that by 2025, 50% of all jobs will be performed by machines (World Economic Forum) and that a new hybrid workforce will emerge with skills needed for the workplace of tomorrow. The skills need will be complex problem solving, creativity, originality, & initiative, reasoning and fresh thinking, analytical thinking & innovation, emotional intelligence, leadership & social influence.
These are dyslexic thinking skills which are the future of our workforce.
