SET Facilitates Executive Functions Workshop

Sep 19 / Keith Dixon

We had the privilege of hosting a workshop on Executive Function Skills. The workshop aimed to identify the valuable tools of Executive Function skills in enhancing the learning journey of their students.

Executive functions, often referred to as the brain's CEO, encompass a set of mental skills that are crucial for success in various aspects of life. From teamwork and decision-making to problem-solving and emotional awareness. These functions are pivotal in a child's development. By nurturing executive functions within schools, we pave the way for improved self-regulation and lifelong benefits for their students.

The session was facilitated by Keith Dixon, providing the teachers with insights into practical strategies to foster executive function skills in the classroom. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, the team gained valuable knowledge that they can now integrate into their teaching practices.

SET.Foundation would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the visionary Directors, Rosemarie Brent-Harris and Audette Issacs, for recognizing the importance of this training opportunity. Their forward-thinking approach has enabled SET to take significant strides in enriching the educational experience we offer at Liberty Learning Centre.

As SET.Foundation continues to support teachers to empower young minds, we are committed to embracing innovative approaches and providing ALL students with the tools they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
