We were guests on CVM-SUNRISE, shedding light on how SET.Foundation supports individuals with learning differences.
The primary goal of the Society for Education & Technology Foundation is to foster a global understanding and celebration of dyslexia and neurodiversity.
The foundation aims to empower individuals with dyslexia, unlocking their full potential and fostering their ability to thrive.
The adult Dyslexia and Neurodiversity Awareness course aims to provide individuals with a deeper understanding of dyslexia and other neurodivergent conditions.
It aims to promote awareness, empathy, and inclusivity by shedding light on the challenges faced by neurodiverse individuals and providing strategies for supporting them effectively.
The SET.Foundation has been unwavering in its commitment to promoting educational equity and fostering a conducive learning environment for students in Jamaica. Through our ongoing initiatives, we have successfully screened approximately 1,000 students in both primary and secondary schools, ensuring that early identification of potential learning challenges is prioritized.
By implementing comprehensive literacy screening programs, we aim to identify and address educational barriers at their roots, allowing us to provide timely support and interventions. This proactive approach not only facilitates a smoother learning experience for the students but also empowers educators with valuable insights into individual learning needs.
SET Foundation's dedication to literacy screening reflects our belief in the transformative impact of early intervention, laying the foundation for a more inclusive and supportive educational landscape in Jamaica.
In our dedicated efforts to foster a more inclusive and supportive learning environment, for the month of October 2023, we have successfully implemented dyslexia awareness training for over 500 educators in schools across Jamaica. Through engaging workshops and comprehensive resources, we have equipped these educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognise and address the unique needs of dyslexic students.
By promoting a deeper understanding of dyslexia, we aim to create classrooms where every learner can thrive, fostering a culture of empathy, patience, and tailored support. Our commitment to empowering educators reflects our belief in the transformative power of education to break down barriers and ensure that every student, regardless of their learning differences, can reach their full potential.
